It was so great.
As soon as we got back, we strapped a tree to the car and got our Christmas in gear.
Jake and I had time to collaborate on making stockings (he sews).
Craving those traditions that happen in just a twinkle.
Love the moments to be in. And Lucy loved having a cool thing like a tree in our house. She didn't really mess with it, just every bump and bruise required a sobbing, darling face and pointed finger... by the week before Christmas, she had eaten all the gingerbread men off the tree. We all reached them for her. T'was worth it.
And then the day after that, it all gets put away. Not sure what camp you're in for how long you leave your Christmas up, but ours fits in the attic and things get dumped and spread out until it all fits back together again... the day after. Whew!
People gave us so much we are gratefully FULL-- in more ways than one.
